Who we are
Madison is run by the person behind hello@madisonplanner.app, who is responsible for what is described here. A company name and address will appear here when there is one.
What we keep
Your email address and a hashed password, so you can log in, and whether the address has been confirmed. Your plan: the terms, courses or projects, and dated items you add. If you pay, a reference to your Stripe customer and subscription — never a card number. That is all.
Where it lives
In a database we run for the sole purpose of showing your plan back to you. Each plan is stored under your account and is never shown to anyone else. Your browser keeps a working copy so the planner opens instantly.
What the reader sees
When you drop in a syllabus, a brief or an email, the text of that document is sent to Anthropic’s Claude so it can be read for names and dates. It is sent only to be read, and we do not keep it. Files are turned into text on your device before anything is sent; the file itself never leaves your computer.
Who else touches it
A few services run parts of Madison on our behalf, each seeing only what its part needs: the host that serves the site and runs the database; Anthropic, which reads the documents you drop in; Stripe, which takes payment and sees your email address and what you bought; the email service that delivers a confirmation, a password reset or the reminders you switched on; and, if you turn notifications on, your browser’s own push service, which is told only that there is something to show.
When something breaks, a note goes to us with the error and the page it happened on — never your name, your address or anything from your plan.
What we do not do
No advertising, no trackers, no analytics scripts, no selling or sharing of anything. We do not read your plan. We email you only to confirm your address, to reset a password, or to send the reminders you switched on.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. Delete it from Settings and the account, every plan saved to it and every link you made go with it at once; the database host’s own short-lived backups follow soon after. Things you delete inside the planner wait thirty days in the trash, in case, then go.
Madison is for people 13 and over. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we will remove it.
Taking it with you
Export a JSON backup of any term at any time from search, or a calendar file for Google, Apple or Outlook. Clear everything from inside the planner whenever you like.
Cookies
One cookie, to keep you logged in. It holds a signed token and nothing about you.
